Center for Axion and Precision Physics Research
One of the KUSP 2015 participant students, Mr. Seung Huh (University of Rochester) wrote an impression report of KUSP 2015 and publish the writing in Korea Physics Society Magazine.
Throughout the KUSP 2015, he took lectures on major theories related to the research activities in the morning and performed hands-on research activities in the afternoon.
Before the program began, he had preconception that KUSP students would be assigned to assist the senior researchers and to work on simple tasks. However, he was very happy that all the students could choose their own research topic and make a contribution to the research project.
During weekdays, students focus on the research activites. However, KUSP provided an opportunities to visit famous laboratories in Korea and historical sites during weekend.
In particular, he learned that there are a lot more applications of accelerator in industry by visiting an accelerator laboratory. This was an eye-opening experience in his life.
KUSP was one of the most wonderful summer experience to Mr. Huh. Throughout the program, he could deepen his understanding of particle physics. He could perform his project successfully working as team with fellow students from multiple cultures. Also, he could have an opportunity to write a research paper in a professional level.
